Zanzibar in Summary

Zanzibar is the name of archipelago of islands that lies around 35 km off the coast of mainland Tanzania. The main islands are Unguja (informally known as Zanzibar) and Pemba. There are also several smaller islands, many that can be visited and some that can’t. Zanzibar is low-lying, with its highest point being 120m. The Island is fringed with white sandy beaches with a lot of coral cliffs/ reefs. Being close to the equator the island is warm through out the year but the North and North East coasts receives splendid sea breeze.
