Best 7 days Kilimanjaro hiking package on Machame route in 2023 and 2024

Day 1: Machame gate to Machame camp

On the first day we start from Arusha Town or Moshi Kilimanjaro to Machame Gate. After registration at Machame Gate, we begin to hike Kilimanjaro from there to Machame camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Machame camp to Shira camp

After breakfast on the second day, we leave the glades of the rain forest and continue on an ascending way, crossing the valley along a steep, rocky ridge. The route now turns west into a river gorge until we arrive at the Shira camp.

Day 3: Shira camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Valley

Trekker(s) and team walk on a gentle ascent with panoramic views. We will traverse the southwest side of Kilimanjaro, passing underneath the Lava Tower and the final section of the Western Breach, and after a hot lunch at the bottom of the Lava Tower, then we descend to Barranco Valley.

Day 4: Barranco camp to Karanga camp

A steep climb up the eastern wall leads climbers just below the Heim Glacier, where we may have some spectacular views of Kilimanjaro. We then take a steep exit up the Great Barranco Wall, which divides us from the southeastern slopes of Kibo. The trail continues down into the alpine desert of the Karanga Valley, and finally we have a steep climb up to Karanga camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Karanga camp to Barafu camp

A steep climb out of Karanga up to Barafu camp, start after breakfast. The two awesome peaks of Kibo and Mawenzi can be seen from Barafu camp. After a hot lunch at the camp, the remainder of the day is spent resting as we prepare for the final ascent before an early night summit walk.

Day 6: Barafu camp to Uhuru peak to Mweka camp

From midnight to 2:00 a.m, the trekker(s) and the team will continue hiking towards the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. This is the most mentally and physically challenging portion of the trek. Once at Uhuru Peak, you have reached the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro! We will descend to Mweka camp for an overnight stay and dinner

Day 7: Mweka gate to Arusha Town or Moshi

After breakfast on the last day, we continue the descent down to the Mweka gate to receive your summit certificates. Our driver will meet you at Mweka gate and drive you back to your booked hotel in Arusha or Moshi.
