On the shores of the Indian Ocean, at the edge of the ancient settlement of Malindi lies The Driftwood, nestled into the Kenyan coast, with a charm all of its own. As a small and privately owned hotel, they have particularly enjoyed developing a sense of warmth and familiarity that sees guests returning time and again.
The facility keeps things small and can accommodate just 70 guests in our cottages and villas, which are constructed in the traditional coastal style and brought up to date with air conditioning and other modern amenities. All the accommodation has been designed to maximize privacy, whilst being close to the open-air bar and dining area and within just a few feet of our pool, private beach and the blue waters of the Indian Ocean.
They offer various activities for their guests, these activities include deep-sea fishing, scuba diving and snorkeling, windsurfing, kite-surfing and water skiing on Mida Creek and bird watching on the Sabaki Delta or in the Arabuko-Sokoke forest. For those who simply want to relax, we have 4 miles of white beach to walk, a small treatment room and plenty of space to find peace and quiet.
