Day 1: Arrival /Lilongwe

Arrive at Lilongwe International Airport, meet our driver cum guide who will be waiting at the arrivals lounge holding a placard with your names on it. The driver will greet you and help you get your luggage into the car and drive you to your hotel. You will have an evening tour of Lilongwe city before dinner and overnight at Riverside hotel.

Day 2: Lilongwe/Senga Bay

In the morning after breakfast, the driver will pick you up from the Hotel and you will proceed with your safari to Senga Bay. Located on the shores of Lake Malawi, Africa’s third largest lake, Senga Bay has a broad stretch of sandy beach and plays host to a range of hotels, extending from the luxurious to small lodges and campsites. The popular Blue Waters by Serendib also resides at Senga Bay.

At Senga Bay you will have the opportunity to relax by the shore and enjoy the cool breeze of the lake. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy various water activities such as canoeing and fishing with the local community. Dinner and overnight will be at Sunbird Livingstonia Hotel.

Day3: Senga Bay/Liwonde.

In the morning after breakfast you will drive south to the Liwonde National park. Although only 220 sq miles (580 sq km), Liwonde is perhaps the most popular of all the game parks in Malawi. It is about 100 miles (160 km) north of Blantyre and only rather more than half that distance from the hotels on the southern Lakeshore. Additionally, game viewing is enhanced because the River Shire flows along its western border, allowing boat safaris as well as the usual ones on foot or in 4x4s. Wildlife includes quite large numbers of elephants and the river attracts countless hippos and crocodiles. Antelope include kudu, sable and bushbuck. There are leopards and hyaena and the occasional visiting lion. Black rhino has been re-introduced. Birdlife is exceptionally varied. The river attracts fish eagles and weaver birds build their nests in the thin woodland. Pel’s fishing owl is often seen at dusk along the river’s edge.

You will have enough time to do a game drive and tour of the Liwonde national park in the course of the day. Dinner and overnight will be at Mvuu camp.

Day 4: Liwonde National Park

The entirety of the day will be spent at the Park where you will get to engage on various fun activities ranging from game drives, walking safaris and boat safaris at the lake Malombe and river Shire.

Dinner and overnight will be at Mvuu camp

Day 5: Liwonde/Monkey Bay

In the morning you will drive to Monkey Bay from Liwonde. Enjoy the scenic view of the Lake Malombe and lake Malawi which can be spotted at your right-hand side and so don’t forget to lower your windows to get a clear view of the lakes and maybe even capture some memorable photos.

Monkey Bay is a small town located on the southern shore of lake Malawi, but the visitor is more likely to see signs of industry rather than monkeys. Monkey Bay is considered to be one of Malawi’s main lake Ports, but does also offer much for tourists visiting or passing through the area. With sandy beaches and tropical fish all around, Monkey Bay provides a good place to go diving, experiencing the marine life of Lake Malawi. Connected by bus to Lilongwe and Blantyre, Monkey Bay is often traveled through on the road to Cape Mclear and if wanting to experience a place not overwhelmed by tourism, Monkey Bay makes for a good stop.

Whilst Monkey Bay is considered to be a tourist resort, it is a small town with a population little over 15,000, with its main purpose being as a construction and repair Centre for the Lake’s small shipping operation.

At Monkey bay you can indulge in various water activities such as snorkeling, diving and water skiing. Dinner and overnight will be at monkey Bay Beach Resort.

Day 6: Monkey Bay/ Cuamba

In the morning you will leave Monkey Bay and head for Mozambique where you will cross the border at Chiponde then drive on to Cuamba where you will have dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Cuamba/Nampula/Ilha De Mocambique

In the morning you will depart Cuamba and head for Ilha De Mocambique via Nampula. On reaching Casuarina you will get on to the famous Mozambique Island bridge which is 3.4kilometers and cross over to Ilha De Mocambique.

Enjoy the wonderful sandy beaches of the island and learn of its rich history that dates back over several centuries. Engage in various water activities such as snorkeling, fishing and boat cruise. Dinner and overnight will be at Hotel Casa Stella.

 Day 8: Ilha de Mocambique

In a remote fishing village in northern Mozambique, there is a time machine. It is a prosaic affair, a low-slung bridge snaking for two miles over the Indian Ocean to a vision of 16th-century Africa.

Ilha de Mocambique is a crescent-shaped coral island that seems lost in time and space. For four centuries it was the capital and trading centre of Portuguese East Africa, a rich bazaar of European, Arab and Indian cultures dominated by the continent’s most formidable fortress. Beneath its ramparts lies a Stone Town of limestone-and-wood villas and warehouses that is dilapidated, crumbling, and magical. The entire island, barely two miles long and a few hundred yards wide, has been declared a Unesco World Heritage site. Think of a mini-Zanzibar before mass tourism.

Spend the entirety of the day enjoying all that Ilha de Mocambique has to offer.

Day 9: Ilha de Mocambique/Pemba

You will leave Ilha de Mocambique in the Morning and head north to Pemba. Marvel at the wonderful Mozambican landscape as you journey on to Pemba. You will arrive at Pemba in time to do a short town tour before dinner and overnight at the Avani Pemba beach hotel &Spa.

Day 10: Pemba/Tandanhangue/Quisanga/Ibo

In the morning you will depart for Ibo from Pemba via Tandanhangue and Quisanga. On arriving at Quisanga you will board a boat that will take you to Ibo island.

Ibo Island could easily be considered a lost world on the edge of nowhere. Located in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Mozambique, in the Quirimbas Archipelago, Ibo Island is one of the most ancient settlements in Mozambique with a history dating back as early as 600AD when Arab merchants set up trading posts here for gold, ivory and slaves to be shipped to the Arab world. Those days ended when Vasco da Gama arrived, marking the Portuguese colonization of the island in the early 1600′s and ending in 1974 when they abruptly left.

Dinner and overnight will be at Cinco Portas.

Day 11: Ibo

 Day 12: Ibo/Palma

In the morning you will board a boat off the Ibo Island and ride to the main land and embark on a drive to Palma. Over at Palma you will get to enjoy a cultural tour where you indulge the local communities on various cultural aspects. Overnight will be at Karibu Palma Hotel.

Day 13: Palma/Lindi

In the morning you will cross the border over to Tanzania and head to the town of Lindi. Over a Lindi you will have a short tour if the town and get yourself some wonderful African souvenirs. Your overnight will be at Sea View Beach Resort.

Day 14: Lindi/Dar Es Salaam.

In the morning you will board a flight to Dar es Salaam from the Lindi airport. Over at the Julius Nyerere International airport in Dar Es Salaam you will connect a flight home.
