During the dry period thousands of animals- wildebeest, buffalo, and Oryx migrate from the dry Maasai steeple to the Tarangire River looking for water. Lion, leopard and other predators follow the herds. Tarangire is home to over 500 varieties of birds. Have a picnic lunch and take a late afternoon game viewing. Later drive to Maramboi Tented camp OR Tarangire sopa lodge.

Have an early breakfast at Karatu then drive down to the Ngorongoro crater. Considered a natural spectacle, Ngorongoro crater is one of the World’s largest Calderas, 20 km wide, Ngorongoro Crater is also one of the best Wildlife viewing areas and one of the very few places that Black Rhinos can be spotted in Tanzania. The crater at 2,286 m above sea level is the largest unbroken Calderas in the world. Surrounded by very steep walls, rising 610 m from the crate floor, it covers 260 km2 and is home to over 30.000 animals, almost half of them being zebra and wildebeest. Ngorongoro is listed as a World Heritage site. In the evening you will ascend the crater and have dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Serena.

After breakfast you will head to Serengeti National park. It is Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park, also a world heritage site and recently proclaimed a 7th worldwide wonder, the Serengeti is famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebras and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for a search fresh grazing. Yet even when the migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and thousands upon thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala and Grant’s gazelle. “Serengeti is a Masai word meaning –Endless plains”. Dinner and overnight at or Serengeti Tortilis or Serengeti Katikati tented camp or Serengeti Halisi

Spend the entirety of your day enjoying all that Serengeti has to offer in terms of both wildlife and landscape. The game drive will be after your early breakfast and lunch boxes will be provided as you go on with the safari. Dinner and overnight will be at lobo wildlife lodge OR Bologonya under canvas.

Take off early in the morning with lunch boxes in hand and head for Natron. On the way you will still get to see amazing game. Lake Natron is the only regular breeding area in East Africa for the 2.5 million lesser flamingoes, whose status of “near threatened” results from their dependence on this one location. When salinity increases, so do cyanobacteria, and the lake can also support more nests. These flamingoes, the single large flock in East Africa, gather along nearby saline lakes to feed on Spirulina (a blue-green alga with red pigments). Lake Natron is a safe breeding location because its caustic environment is a barrier against predators trying to reach their nests on seasonally forming evaporate islands. Greater flamingoes also breed on the mud flats. To the south of the lake the famous Ol Doinyo Lengai comes to sight. It is the only active volcano in Tanzania and this is evident by the fumes emitted from the mountain top that can be seen regularly alongside the volcanic ash painted on the slopes of the mountain. Dinner and overnight will be at lake Natron halisi camp or lengai safari lodge.

After breakfast drive south to Arusha. have lunch at Arusha city before you leave for Marangu in Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight will be at honey badger hotel OR mountain inn OR Babylon lodge

You will have an early breakfast then drive to Marangu gate for a full day trekking of the Mt. Kilimanjaro. With this trek you can only go as far as the first Hut at Mandara, then from there you will descend to Marangu gate and proceed to Marangu for dinner and overnight at honey badger hotel OR mountain inn OR Babylon lodge.
